From Century Media comes this group of several Swedish metal superstars. Witchery sign these days the release of his fifth work "Witchkrieg." The Swedish practice an Old School Thrash metal, Death with some air.

Great riffs, mainly dry and sound, are the main ingredients of Witchery. For this occasion the group has received Legion (ex-MARDUK and former DEVIAN) replaces Tony Kampner. Legion has a voice a little bit harder and toxic, but certainly both work very well in these environments.

The current lineup is composed other figures such as Martin Axe (OPETH, BLOODBATH) on drums, Sharlee D'Angelo (Arch Enemy) on bass, Rickard Rimfält (seance) guitarist and Jensen (THE HAUNTED), the other guitarist .

cd with parts A very striking, as the one that Kerry King (SLAYER) has made for the occasion on the theme of the album and one of the best cuts around the cd, "Witchkrieg."

The album is influenced by many greats of the scene. For example the cut "The God Who Fell From Earth" is heavy, slow, leisurely atmosphere with many diverse, thanks largely to the work of Hank Shermann, Mercyful Fate comes to life for a moment on this album. Thrash metal

The U.S. takes the lead in "The Reaver" sounding more EXODUS air with a mixture DEVIAN MARDUK. From "From Dead to Worse" and "One Foot in the Grave" things change towards a more heavy ground, and less hardened less riffs. At times you can see the vein that endows all Andy LaRocque from King Diamond songs with a halo death after death. From here, the upcoming topics are guilty of massive poverty in their execution.

So with tremendous collaboration and alignment to match, could expect only good things about this album.

Witchkrieg is the opener, and has the support of Kerry King, and imagine themselves in that category type works. Topic cane and direct, almost entirely fast, very good riffs, with a job to the voice of Legion, at the height of what is expected of a guy like him. Wear of Wolf's Skin even shorter than before, and much more raw, dirty and brutal. Something that I really like is that wave "metal core" in the voice. Another super collaboration appears on Wear of Wolf's Skin, this time will be Mr. Hank Shermann. This item convinced me halfway and those trips to the "nu-metal", I am not convinced. Even so, include the raw cane is loaded riffs on this track. A part-time, very moving and powerful, the Conqueror's Return maintains the dose of power and aggression. To shake a bit and speed up again this The Reaver , joining the cause is Gary Holt and Lee Altus as partners in this track. A feast of violence in themselves and in general throughout the track, quite fast and full of sharp riffs.

Time Comes Andy LaRocque to contribute to the cause, the issue From Dead To Worse, more raw cane, and a bit of variety in Mr Legion tones to sing, bringing something more guttural in some passages. For there are left to hear some riffs with an air of PANTERA. Another issue of those who do their work to keep entertaining and cane on the disc, Devil Rides Out is one that brings a more modern sound. Not bad, but it's not a big deal. In One Foot In The Grave , Jim Durkin joins the party. Good theme, does not carry the pedal to the metal, but enough to sound steps intense and powerful, in the slower parts, also has a lot of cane and density. Hellhound, if you step on the throttle further, at almost every turn. Short and direct, with good times thrash. Witch Hunter would be the last, in the standard edition, but will include one more in the special. It is a matter of rhythm of the double pedal, which hammered throughout the track, with a peculiar style which manages Legion to sing this track in particular. Good choice to close the disc.

A detail that could have given more points and have improved the end result is the production, too clean, full and polished, a genre like this is more apparent, with a little less digital and more visceral, although I suppose this could be a very personal taste.
